TapExpense
For iPhone and iPod Touch
Three Quick Questions
1. Why can't TapExpense send an exported .CSV as an attachment?
It's because Mobile Mail only allows us to send plain text emails for the time being. We are thinking about exporting the data via a web gateway, but we'll have to figure out how to do it securely, ensuring that nothing goes wrong in the process. Using Google's data API might be another idea worth investigating. Let us know how you would like this to be done.
2. Hey, I've found some problems. The cell text's color is still black when it's tapped on. The icon seems blurry. And lastly, why are you “(股)公司 Liu” on iTunes App Store?
We actually submitted a Version 1.1 before the App Store launch, but apparently the line for applications waiting to be on is just as long as the line outside the Apple Store in NYC. We're fixing (or have fixed) those issues as we speak, and the subsequent updates, according to what Apple told us, will be free.
In theory my name should appear as "Lukhnos D. Liu". But apparently something went wrong there... we're asking Apple to do something about it, seriously.
3. Who are you and why?
I have developed TapExpense with my colleague, Weizhong Yang (zonble), and my company, Lithoglyph Inc., does the support work for it.
I have developed TapExpense because I needed it. I had been using Excel to track my expense records for the past 14 years, but tracking expenses in different currencies is a pain, and you don't want to fire up Excel when you're on the road. iPhone/iPod Touch provides a good hardware solution, and now TapExpense fills the gap. As TapExpense is very useful to me, I hope it's useful to you, too. Enjoy!
